Security tightened at Dera Sacha Sauda establishment in HP

Dharamshala, May 18 (UNI) The Kangra district administration of Himachal Pradesh today tightened security at the Dera Sacha Sauda establishment at Chachian following incidents of violence in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana.

Kangra ASP Santosh Patial told UNI here, that in view of the continuing violence in Punjab and some parts of Haryana, the administration has stepped up vigil at its establishment at Chachian as a precautionary measure.

He said besides the people have been asked to keep an eye on the activities of anti social elements to prevent any untoward incident in the district.

The Dera has been surrounded and the police and intelligence network have been put on an alert, he said, adding that the steps have been taken following directions from the Centre to prevent any violence in the state.

DSP Palampur was personally monitoring the situation at Dera Chachian despite peace in the entire state, Mr Patial added.
