Ranbir Sena Area Commander arrested

Dehri-On Sone, May 18 (UNI) Hardened criminal and ''Area Commander'' of Ranbir Sena, the private army of landlords in Bihar, Nilnidhi Singh was arrested from Kahargarh village in Rohatas district today in a major operation by the state police.

District Superintendent of Police S Khan informing this here said the notorious criminal, who was carrying a cash award of Rs 50,000 on his head on charge of killing at least 16 people since 1999, was nabbed from a house in the village.

He said acting on a tip off that Nilnidhi Singh had come to the village and was planning a major operation, a special police force led by DSP Vijay Kumar rushed to the spot and raided the house to capture the Ranbir Sena leader along with two accomplices.

Nilnidhi is believed to have shot dead six CPI-ML supporters at Dumaria village under Sikarhata police station area in 2002, police said adding that he was evading arrest for a long time.

Meanwhile, in another incident in Siwan, the police arrested another notorious criminal Raj Kumar Sharma from Batrouli area in the district last night.

Charged with a number of cases of kidnapping, loot and extortions Raj Kumar is believed to be a close aide of incarcerated RJD MP Mohammad Sahabuddin, who had recently been sent to life imprisonment by the local court.
