Rains forecast in northeast

Pune, May 18 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Chattisgarh.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, north Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, south Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the south Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Gujarat, north Konkan, north Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana and Rayalseema.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, north Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Vidarbha and Telangana. Hot day conditions also prevailed at isolated places in coastal Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Kashmir, interior Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka, and in remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were above normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jammu, north Rajasthan and Telangana.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in north Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and in some parts of Haryana and north Madhya Pradesh. They were below normal in some parts of Gujarat. They were normal over the rest of the country.
