Mosque blast sparks anti-Pak protests

Varanasi, May 18 (UNI) The blast at Hyderabad's historic Mecca mosque sparked off anti-Pakistan protests in the holy city today.

While ruling BSP supporters burnt the Pakistani flag, activists of Samajwadi Party burnt the effigy of Pakistan President Musharraf.

Ruling BSP and Shahar Dakshini Sanghursh Samiti activists burnt the Pakistani flag outside the Sankatmochan temple and demanded that UPA government at centre take stern action against those responsible for the blast at the historic Hyderabad mosque.

Led by BSP leader Sanjay Pandey, the activists claimed Pak-sponsored attempts of triggering terror at places of worship in India to break the country's secular fabric will never be successful.

Meanwhile, activists of SP staged anti-Pak demonstration in Luxa area in the evening.

Led by Ravikant Vishwakarma, the protestors blaming Islamabad for the blast at Mecca mosque burnt the effigy of President Musharraf.
