Man held for cheating KMC

Kolhapur, May 18 (UNI) Police have arrested a courier service employee for allegedly cheating the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) to the tune of Rs 2.17 lakh.

Nikhil Kulkarni, arrested last evening, used to carry forged KMC octroi receipt books along with him, police said.

Kulkarni's courier company is engaged in delivering goods like SIM cards and mobile handsets. Kulkarni allegedly evaded paying octroi on these goods but recovered the amount from his customers by producing fake octroi receipts, police said.
