New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Larsen&Toubro Ltd (L&T) today said it has bagged two orders worth Rs 412 crore.

The company and its JV partner Kirloskar Brothers Ltd from the Irrigation&Command Area Development Dept (ICAD), bagged a 332-crore Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) lift irrigation contract from the Irrigation&Command Area Development Department (ICAD), Government of Andhra Pradesh, a release said.

The Company also bagged a 80 crore order from Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), the relese added.

The lift irrigation contract from ICAD includes, design, supply and erection of necessary lift systems with all electrical and mechanical components, surge protection systems, control valves, and many others, for lifting 7.80 TMC water from Goddamvaripalli village to Goddumarri Anicut in the Cuddappah district of Andhra Pradesh, including operation and maintenance.

Water from Gandikota dam will be drawn through MS pipelines and pumped to Goddumarri Anicut, using concrete volute pumps.

From the Anicut water will be discharged to fields.

The lift irrigation project is to be completed in 24 months and will not only benefit farmers who will get a dependable source of water for irrigation, but also reduce their dependence on ground water exploitation.

The order from RINL is for executing civil works for Wire Rod Mill No 2 of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), where the Company and its International consortium partners of Paul Wurth Italia and India will be executing 1400-crore EPC (Engineering-Procure-Construct) package for the expansion of VSP.

The expansion project involves installation of a new third blast furnace a state-of-the-art 3800 CuM unit with a capacity of 2.5 million tonne of hot metal per year.
