Interstate auto lifters gang busted

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Police today claimed to have busted a gang of interstate auto lifters with the arrest of four people from north Delhi.

Aftab alias Aapu (22), Shekhar (31), Brajeshwar Kumar Tyagi (40) and Vijay Pal alias Rajeev Verma were arrested from Gokalpuri area on May 2.

Police recovered 15 stolen vehicles and claimed to have solved several cases of vehicle theft.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that after stealing the vehicles they drive to Meerut and tamper with the engine and chassis number before selling the vehicle.

All the four accused have been sent in judicial custody by a city court.
