Kozhikode, May 18 (UNI) Leading business schools in the country should go in for joint research to prepare themselves for the growing global competitions, Indian Institute of Management-Lucknow Director Devi Singh said today.

Inaugurating a national conference on 'Global Competitiveness of Indian Corporate' here, he said ''we need to promote joint research.

For an institute to be competitive, it has to create knowledge, influence practice and become a global institution''.

Prof Singh opined that collaboration by IIMs and IITs in the field of research would bring better results.

Speaking on the occasion IIM (Kozhikode) Director Krishna Kumar said his institute might take up post-doctoral research with other IIMs in the country.

''We were able to meet the competitions from within but were yet to achieve it outside,'' he said.

As many as 50 papers would be presented in the two-day meet jointly organised by IIM-K and IIM-L. Senior faculties from the six IIMs in the country would attend the programme.
