'Govt control over strategic establishment should continue'

Kochi, May 18 (UNI) Union Minister for Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi today said government control over strategic establishments like ports should continue to ensure job security to employees.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Savings-linked Insurance Scheme of the Cochin Port Employees Co-operative Society here, Mr Ravi said adequate security at airports and ports were also essential in the interest of the nation.

Citing the example of public-private partnership in the Vallarpadam project, Mr Ravi said there was no need to reject private participation in the port sector.
