Four people drowned in Netravathi river
Mangalore, May 18 (UNI) Four people, including three young girls and a youth, were drowned in Netravathy River near Thumbe bridge today.
Police said that the deceased were among 19 people who had come on picnic to Thumbe bridge. First two girls went for washing their hands before lunch and slipped into the water, other girl and their instructor who went for their rescue also found watery grave.
The girls, who had come from different parts of the country, had completed a nine-month Beautician course and went for picnic at Thumbe bridge when the mishap occurred.
The bodies have been recovered and sent for postmortem.
