CRPF Asst commandant shoots himself

Srikakulam, May 18 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Assistant Commandant L Kumer Devaraj (23) shot himself dead with a service revolver in his camp office here today.

According to the District Police Superintendent Manish K Sinha, Devaraj was frustrated over his failure to secure the minimum marks required to clear the UPSC examinations. He was even consoled by his senior.

In his suicide note Devaraj indicated that he was dejected following his failure to qualify for the civil services examinations held recently and also attributed his extreme step to family problems. He was a native of Guntur district.
