Chandresh Shah gets interim bail : Haseena untraceable

Mumbai, May 18 (UNI) A sessions court here today granted interim bail till May 28 to real estate agent Chandresh Shah, an accused in a case of alleged extortion, forgery and cheating, in which underworld don Dawood Ibrahims' sister Haseena Parkar has also been implicated by Anti Extortion Cell of Mumbai police.

Sessions judge Ashok Bhangale today granted interim bail till May 28 to Chandresh Shah on a surety of Rs 25,000. During the period of relief, Shah has been directed to report to the Anti Extortion Cell everyday. Shah has also been directed to surrender himself on May 28 in the same court and can move for regular bail on the same day.

The case came to light after real estate agent Vinod Avlani filed a complaint in the crime branch of Mumbai Police late last year, stating that he had been threatened and duped to the tune of Rs 30 lakh.

Avlani had given demand drafts of Rs 100,000 to Haseena Parkar and seven others for a construction deal. The accused returned back Rs 70 lakh after Avlani demanded his money back when he found that the deal was not materialising. He was, however, threatened when he demanded the remaining Rs 30 lakh.

On April 21, the Anti Extortion Cell of Mumbai Police had ragistered an FIR against Haseena and seven others, including Chandresh Shah, on a complaint by Avlani. While the police have arrested two accused, Sandeep Shukla and his uncle Baba, Haseena and four of her alleged accomplices are still eluding the Mumbai police.

On May 10, a local court here had issued non-bailable warrants against Haseena and the four others. However, Haseena has been untraceable since her name cropped up in the case. The police and the state too, has threatened to attach all her properties if she does not surrender or appear in court soon.
