Bandit nabbed in MP

Morena, MP, May 18 (UNI) Dacoit Prahlad Gurjar, who was also active in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and carried a reward of Rs 20,000, was arrested during an encounter today.

''Following a tip-off that a few armed persons were planning a crime near Chhonda village, we surrounded and challenged them.

Gurjar was apprehended but two others fled. A .315-bore rifle was seized,'' said Superintendent of Police Haribabu Singh.

The bandit stands accused in about a dozen cases of murder and loot. The reward break-up was Madhya Pradesh Rs 15,000, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan Rs 2,500 each.
