8 killed in accident

Meerut, May 18 (UNI) Eight people, including two women and a child, were killed when a tourist bus hit a 'tonga' here at Pondy National Highway late last night, said police sources today.

Relatives of the victims later blocked the national highway in protest against what they alleged inadequate medical facility provided to the people who had met with the accident.

Later, with the intervention of police and assuarances the highway was reopened for traffic.

Police have sent all the bodies for post-mortems.
