6 held for attacking cop

Malappuram, May 18 (UNI) Six suspected activists of Kerala-based National Development Front (NDF) were arrested for allegedly attacking a constable on duty at Ponnani Police Station in the district early today.

Police said the activists, who barged into the station around 0200 hrs, engaged a constable on duty in an altercation and attacked him demanding action against a policemen who allegedly manhandled one of their colleagues.

A case has been registered and investigation was on, police added.
