Suicide bomber hits Kandahar governor - witnesses
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, May 17 (Reuters) A suicide bomber targeted the governor of Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province today, witnesses said.
It was not immediately clear if the governor, Assadullah Khalid, survived the attack which happened in Kandahar city.
The governor was travelling in his vehicle when the bomber rammed a car full of explosives into it.
Security forces cordoned off the site of the attack.
