Race for President not interested: Vajpayee
New Delhi, May 17: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today said he is ''not interested at all'' to be a candidate for the post of indian President.
''The newspapers have carried reports today about some suggestions that I should stand as a candidate for the post of President of India. I want to state categorically that I have no desire to occupy that office,'' Mr Vajpayee said in a statement issued here.
He said the NDA will soon announce its choice for the post of President of India.
Trinamool Congress leader Mamta Banerjee yesterday proposed Mr Vajpayee's name for the post of the President at the NDA meeting.
