Vajpayee authorised to decide NDA Presidential nominee

New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) Opposition National Democratic Alliance today authorised former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to 'discuss and decide' its nominee for the coming Presidential elections.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of NDA constituents at Mr Vajpayee's residence this evening.

NDA Convenor George Fernandes and BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra, however, said no names were discussed at the meeting though there was speculation that Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat is the most likely choice of the NDA for the coveted post.
