TN Cabinet adopts resolution hailing Karunanidhi
Chennai, May 15 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Cabinet today adopted a resolution, congratulating Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on his completion of five decades in the State Legislature.
''We are much privileged and extremely happy to work in the Cabinet, headed by Mr Karunanidhi, a political pundit, scholar, able administrator and Dravidian patriarch, who is the only politician in the country to have served for 50 years in the State Assembly,'' the resolution said.
Paying rich tributes, the resolution described Mr Karunanidhi as a multi-faceted personality, having made a mark for himself as a poet, playwriter, stage artiste, orator and script writer.
The resolution noted that Mr Karunanidhi, after winning his first Assembly elections from Kulithalai in 1957, won all the elections he had contested in the last 50 years.
After assuming office as Chief Minister for the record fifth time, Mr Karunanidhi was providing good governance, which was hailed by the people as ''golden rule''. He was not only governing the State, but providing valuable guidance to the Centre, the resolution added.
