Three men get 10 year R.I in gang rape case

Dharmashala, May 15 (UNI) A local court oday convicted three accused for gang raping a class X student of Dhera in 2003 and sentenced them for ten-year Rigorous Imprisonment and fine of Rupees 25000 each.

Additional District Sessions Judge Kangra II Mr. K.S.Chandel, held two persons Ravi Kumar and Mohan Lal, guity under section 376 and some other sections of IPC, for committing rape of the class X student after kidnapping and abducting her and sentenced them for 10 year rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 25000 each to be paid as compensation to the victim, and in default they will have to under go rigorous imprisonment for two more years.

According to Mr. B.K.Marwha, Deputy District Attorney, a third co-accused in the case, Surjeet was also sentenced for 10 year R.I and Rs. 25000 fine to be paid to victim as compensation and in default of payment of fine he will also have to undergo R.I for two more years.
