Three human traffickers arrested
Dehra Dun, May 15 (UNI) Three Nepali citizens engaged in human trafficking were arrested by Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) here today.
According to LIU sources, acting on the complaint made by a person reportedly the victim of agents, Sitaram Bhetwal, Ramprasad Pokhrel and Sher Bahadur Thapa, all from Nepal, were nabbed by the police. Several fake passports were recovered from them.
The preliminary interrogation revealed that all the three were working for one Rani operating from Delhi. She was reportedly connected to international human trafficking syndicate as a list of foreign agents were also recovered from their possession along with contact numbers of South Africa, Afghanisthan, Kuwait, Sri Lanka and Cyprus.
Documents of many of their candidates were also recovered.
The LIU officals said the arrested persons had opened two agencies in Nepal, one in Delhi and were planning to open one in Dehra Dun.
Their engagement were to charge exhorbitant sum from the people and send them to foreign countries on tourist visa for work.
All the three were presented in a local court and sent to jail.
