Russia says to build nuclear reactor in Myanmar

Moscow, May 15: Russia's atomic energy agency said today it had signed a deal to build a nuclear research reactor in Myanmar, a country criticised by the West for repressive and undemocratic practises.

''This agreement provides for cooperation in the design and construction in Myanmar of a centre for nuclear research,'' the atomic energy agency said in a statement. ''The centre will include a nuclear research reactor.''
