Retd Maj Gen, wife murdered in Panchkula, servant missing

Panchkula, Haryana, May 15 (UNI) A retired Major General and his wife were today found murdered in their house here while their servant was reported missing, police today said.

Police recovered the decomposed bodies of Maj Gen K C Dhingra and his wife from their residence at sector 25 here, SP Balbir Singh told UNI.

According to Mr Singh, the double murder came to light late this evening when a police team from Chandigarh went to visit the couple in regard with an accident in which their car was involved on Sunday.

They were apparently attacked while asleep as their bodies bore injury marks but no signs of struggle could be found, Mr Singh said.

The Sena medal decorated Dhingra and his wife were living alone in the house with a servant, who was however found missing and was the prime suspect, Mr Singh said.

As the Dhingra couple were reclusive and did not interact much with the neighbours, police was finding it difficult to glean much information about the family and the servant immediately.

The verification of the servant was apparently not done, Mr Singh said.
