Portugal police identify suspect in girl kidnapping

PRAIA DA LUZ, May 15 (Reuters) Portuguese police have identified a suspect in their investigation of the kidnapping of a four-year-old British girl, police said today.

''There is a suspect,'' in the case, said a spokeswoman for the judicial police, without giving any further details.

Police yesteray searched a villa close to the complex from where Madeleine McCann went missing more than a week ago and took a British man away for questioning.

The spokeswoman did not say whether it was the same man who was a suspect.
