Plea for filling up vacant posts in govt

Hyderabad, May 15 (UNI) 'Nirudyoga Sangharshana Samiti' (Organisation fighting the cause of unemployed) President R Krishnaiah today criticised the Congress for neither mentioning nor discussing its election promise of filling up 2.5 lakh vacant posts in various government departments.

In a release here, Mr Krishnaiah said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy during his election campaign had stated that the Congress would fill up all the vacancies.

The unemployed persons and their parents had 'worked for the victory of the Congress with the hope of getting jobs.' But the Congress Government was following the same procedure as of the erstwhile TDP regime by outsourcing work and employing people on contract.

As many as 80,000 clerical posts at district level to be filled up through District Selection Committees (DSCs) had been lying vacant for the past 20 years.

He wanted the immediate withdrawal of GO 613, banning recruitment to these posts.

Mr Krishnaiah appealed to the government to immediately fill up all the vacancies and fulfil the aspirations of the unemployed youth.
