People panick after cyclone alarm
Aizawl, May 15 (UNI) People became panicky here today after the Met office issued a cyclone warning.
Met sources informed that a cyclone, at the speed of 65-70 kms per hour, could hit the North East states, Bangladesh, West Bengal and Andaman&Nicobar Islands.
Meteorology officials in New Delhi had also informed the state government to be alert as there was high possibility of a cyclone hitting the state.
While a number of schools have declared holiday, many people were staying indoors.
The cyclonic formation was moving over the Bay of Bengal, about 750 kms from Kolkata, Met sources added.
