NTPC commissions 7th Distributed Generation Project
New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) State-owned power major NTPC Ltd today commissioned a 25kW woody biomass based Distributed Generation (DG) Project at village Piparhar in Uttar Pradesh.
The project will provide electricity to 160 households, along with street lights and community centre in the village, a NTPC statement said.
This is the first Distributed Generation Project commissioned by NTPC in this fiscal.
Grants for the project was provided by Department of Science and Technology whereas for other projects, the same was provided by Power Finance Corporation (PFC) under decentralised management (DDM) scheme of the Ministry of Power.
NTPC has already commissioned DG projects in six villages including Jeraha- Chetwa in UP, Bhaogarh in Rajasthan, Jemara, Bagdara, Uchelenga and Khirti all in Chhattisgarh.
