Newly-weds commit suicide

Jamshedpur, May 15 (UNI) Police recovered the bodies of an Adivasi couple, found hanging from a banyan tree, at Behara village under Dhalbhumgarh police station in East Singhbhum district yesterday.

Police informed that the couple, identifed as Karu Hembram (23) and Manko Hembram (20), had married against their parents' wishes three months ago.

They might have been compelled to take the fatal step because of social unacceptance of their marriage and poverty, police added.

The bodies have been sent for post mortem by the police.
