MLA's husband arrested in Patna on criminal charges

Patna, May 15 (UNI) Rajesh Choudhury, the husband of ruling JD(U) MLA Guddi Devi, was today arrested at the Patna Junction station here in connection with several criminal cases.

Carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head and evading arrest for long,Rajesh was arrested from an air-conditioned coach of the Howrah-Danapur Express on its arrival here.

Accompanied by his legislator wife, Rajesh initially tried to dodge the police by suppressing his identity,but later gave in during interrogation, railway police sources told UNI.

A number of criminal cases were pending against the husband of Runnisaidpur MLA. These deal with his own district of Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga.

A special team of Sitamarhi police was scheduled to arrive here soon to take him into their custody, the sources added.
