McAfee to have its Indian Subsidiary soon

Bangalore, May 15 (UNI) McAfee, a worldwide player in on-line security, will soon have its Indian Subsidiary to tap the rich market potential in the country, Executive Vice President Roger J King said here today.

Speaking at a press conference here he said that the McAfee, already enjoyed support from over 90 per cent of India's BPO customer base and was working towards rebuilding its brand presence and consolidate its position as the leaders in the security solution space.

He said the company which had only its liason office in the country, would soon have a fully owned subsidiary to deliver its 'best-of-breed' products and services that protect its customer's information technology systems and infrastructure.

He said the company which began its operations in India in 1998 had seen a phenomenal growth and was pioneer in the proactive security solution program and intends to spread the concept of proactive security in the country.

The Company which offers the industry's only complete set of system and network protection software solutions would concentrate on products such as the Anti virus, Managed Virus Scan ePO and which are targeted at Desktops, Small and Medium Business and large enterprises in India.

Mr King said that McAfee accounts for 20 per cent of its total business in Asia Pacific. Over 40 per cent of its European workers had been stationed in McAfee India Center (MCI). While Corporate sector contribute over 70 per cent of its India business rest comes from Consumer business area, he said.

Reluctant to share McAfee's earnings from the security business, Mr King however said that total world revenue from the sector comes around 1.3 billion US Dollars.
