Jagjit Chaudhry gets anticipatory bail
Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today granted interim anticipatory bail and stayed arrest of former Punjab Minister Jagjit Singh Chaudhry in the Ludhiana City Centre scam case.
While granting him interim bail till July 30, Justice Ranjit Singh has directed the petitioner to appear before the ivestigating officer within a week.
Mr Chaudhry is one of the accused in the case registered by the State Vigilance Bureau regarding irregularities in the multi-crore City Centre project of Ludhiana Improvement Trust awarded to New Delhi based Today Homes.
A Ludhiana court had issued non-bailable warrants against Mr Chaudhry only a few days back.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had also secured bail in the case.
