HP Governor inaugurates photo exhibition

Shimla, May 15 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V.S. Kokje today inaugurated a photo exhibition 'Jerusalem in old maps' held by the department of Language, Art and Culture in collaboration with Israel Embassy.

Mr Kokje said India, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Babylon, Syria and Jerusalem were one of the oldest civilizations and were rich in cultural and artistic traditions. He said India had cordial relations with Isreal in Art, Cultural, Historical and Political fields.

He inspected the exhibition and evinced keen interest in the exhibits. Depicted the historical background of Jerusalem he said it also generated awareness about Israel among the artists of Shimla besides providing a platform to the artists of Israel to exhibit their artistic works.

Director language, Art and Culture Prem sharma was also present on the occasion among others.

UNI
