Haryana setting up network of Trauma Centres

Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) The Haryana Health Department is setting up a network of Trauma Centres to provide trauma care to the people in the state.

Haryana Health Minister Kartar Devi said a new building for the state's second Trauma Centre had been completed at the General Hospital in Sirsa and buildings for three more Trauma Centres were under construction at General Hospitals in Rewari, Ambala City and Yamunanagar.

She said the setting up of these four Trauma Centres would cost about Rs six crore.

A Trauma Centre was already functional at Karnal and these centres would help in providing timely health care to accident victims thus saving precious lives, she added.

She said that the newly constructed building of the Trauma Centre at Sirsa had been constructed over an area of 1264.20 sq m at a cost of about Rs 1.50 crore of which Rs 63 lakh had been provided by the Centre and the remaining expenditure had been borne by the state Government.

Ms Kartar Devi said a provision of Rs 15.74 crore had been made under the state plan budget to construct various health institutions during the current financial year.

It included Rs 4.50 crore for construction of buildings for Community Health Centres, Rs 5.50 crore for Primary Health Centres, Rs 5.50 crore for hospitals and Rs 50 lakh for sub centres, she added.
