Haryana disburses Rs 2518 cr for wheat purchase

Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) The Haryana government has disbursed Rs 2518 crore to the farmers of the state for the purchase of their 29.62 lakh MTs of wheat so far this season.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said HAFED had purchased 11.40 lakh MTs of wheat and disbursed a sum of Rs 969.25 crore, Food and Supplies Department had procured 7.10 lakh MTs of wheat on a payment of Rs 604.11 crore.

Similarly, Food Corporation of India had procured 3.20 lakh MTs of wheat and disbursed a sum of Rs 272.50 crore to the farmers.

Mr Chander Mohan said that Agro Industries Corporation had purchased 2.91 lakh MTs of wheat and paid a sum of Rs 247.82 crore. Haryana Warehousing Corporation procured 2.62 lakh MTs of wheat on a payment Rs 222.88 crore.

Confed had purchased 2.36 lakh MTs and the payment of Rs 201.36 crore was made to the farmers.

He said 32.99 lakh MTs of wheat has arrived in the 360 mandis of the state so far. Of this, 29.62 lakh MTs had been purchased by the six government procuring agencies so far.
