Family of four killed in fire

Jammu, May 15 (UNI) Four members of a family were killed today when fire gutted their house in Poonch town of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said.

The victims, identified as Balwinder Singh, 42, his wife Om Kour, daughter Sonia, 5, and son Pintu, 3, were burnt alive when the fire broke out in their house after midnight, the sources said.

The police immidiately swung into action after receiving the information at 0250 hrs, they said.

Short circuit is believed to be the cause of fire.

However, police have lodged the case and started investigation.
