Discussion on workers' participation in management tomorrow

New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) The issue of workers' participation in management will be discussed in a meeting of the Tripartite Committee here tomorrow.

The main focus of discussions at the meeting, presided by Minister of State (Independent Charge) Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes and attended by representatives of employees and employers, would be participation of workers' at the board level.

At an earlier meeting of the Tripartite Committee held in February 2006, there was divergence of views between the employers and the workers.

While the employees' representatives wanted that Participation of Workers in Management Bill 1990 should be accepted without any dilution, the employers' association were agreeable for participation of workers at the shop and plant level but not at the apex level.
