DHD(J) militant surrenders in Asom

Diphu, May 15 (UNI) A Dima Halom Daogah (Jewel faction) (DHD-J) militant surrendered at Diphu in Karbi Anglong district today.

Badal Ardau (21), laid down a grenade launcher before the top district administration and security officials at a surrender ceremony at the Diphu circuit house.

He had joined the outfit in November last year and undergone 45 days' arms training at Lalbong, a temporary camp of the DHD(J) in North Cachar Hills district.

The surrendered ultra disclosed that the DHD(J) had a cadre strength of over 600 at present.

He also confirmed the involvement of the outfit in the massacre of 13 railway and security personnel on May 6 last year in the hills district.
