Cyclonic storm to cross Arkan coast by noon
Visakhapatnam, May 15 (UNI) The cylonic storm 'Akash' lay centred at 500 km south-east of Kolkata this morning.
Cyclone Warning Centre here said the storm was likely to itensify further and move in a north-north-easterly direction. It would cross south Bangladesh and adjoining north Arkan coast in Myanmar by afternoon.
Under its influence, rain or thundershowsers are likely at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and isolated showers over south coastal regions of the state during the next 24 hours.
Distant Warning Signal No 2 was hoisted at Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Machilipatnam, Nizampatnam and Krishnapatnam ports, it added.
