CISF and Rovers snatch exciting wins

Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) Olympian Deepak Thakur and Satwinder Singh starred in Rock Rover's exciting 8-6 verdict over Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited in the 5 th Olympian Dharam Singh Memorial Six-a-Side Hockey Tournament being played under lights at the Sector 18 Hockey Stadium here tonight.

The winners led 3-2 at half time.

Deepak Thakur scored in the fourth, 18th and 20th minutes.

Satwinder topscored with five goals, including a brilliant hat-trick.

Satwinder struck in the 3 rd, 12th 16th, 17th and 18th minutes. For BPCL, Irshad Ali (6th, 30th), Ravi Pal (19th, 21st), Pundik (19th) and Pramod Kumar (23 rd) reduced the margin. Rock Rovers goalkeeper Sunny Samuel was adjudged the man of the match. Rock Rovers earned three points from this win.

In another match, Central Industrial Security Force snatched a thrilling 8-7 triumph over Rail Coach Factory of Kapurthala.

Prolific CISF scorer Cyril Ekka contributed five goals. Ekka also performed three-in-a-row feat. After opening his account in the 10 th minute. Ekka netted three goal in successional 16th and two goals in 17th minutes. His last goal came in the 27th minute.

Prateek (5th and 13th) contributed two goals. Parambir got one goal to his name.

For RCF, Gagan (10th, 18th, 24th and 25th) scored four goals.

Satwant (20 th, 26th) and Jarnail (29th) were the other goal-getters for RCF.

The winners logged three points.
