After hot day, heavy rains lash Kashmir
Srinagar, May 15 (UNI) Heavy rains followed by hailstorm lashed several parts of Kashmir tonight, bringing the much-needed respite to the people from sweltering conditions during the day today.
Sudden rains lashed Srinagar and adjoining areas in the evening as the people reeled under the blazing sun during the day.
The Kashmir valley recorded this season's highest temperature today at 32.4 degrees Celsius as the mercury shot up about ten degrees above normal.
The minimum stood at 16.5 degrees Celsius, which was also about seven to eight degrees above normal.
Several places in the Kashmir valley, including Srinagar, also witnessed hailstorm.
Fruit growers and agriculture experts apprehended that the cherry crop might get damaged due to the hailstorm.
