10 Private universities to be set up in Rajasthan
Jaipur, May 15 (UNI) The Rajasthan Government will soon promulgate ordinaces for setting up of about ten private universities, Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari said today.
Talking to reporters at the BJP state headquarters here, Mr Tiwari said the proposals for setting up of about ten private universities were in the advanced stage of implementation and the varsities would be opened soon.
He said the state government would promulgate ordinances for the purpose. As per the norms, separate ordinace is required to be promulgated for setting of each university, Mr Tiwari said.
The state government is also contemplating the move of upgradation of Rajasthan University, Jaipur, into a central university.
Besides, the Jodhpur Univeristy would also be accorded status of a central university, he said.
Mr Tiwari was in the ruling BJP state office to participate in the "Jan Sunwai" programme being organised by the party for redressal of compliants and grievances of the party workers.
