Work for Congress victory in 2009 polls: PCC Chief

Hyderabad, May 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committe (APCC) President K Keshava Rao today said, every party worker should aspire to become a leader and work for the party's victory in the 2009 elections.

Speaking at the rededication programme held in the Lal Bahadur Stadium to mark the completion of Congress government three years in office, he called upon all Congressmen to work unitedly like a family once again to achieve a spectacular victory.

Referring to developmental activities, he said the government had taken up several irrigation projects with a view to bringing an additional ayacut of one crore acres in the future.

The party workers should fan out into villages and highlight the developmental activities of the state government.

Stressing the need for bringing structural changes in the administration, he said the Plenum should debate on the plans to be implemented to make every family happy in the state.

Brushing aside corruption allegations, Mr Rao said though the government had organised meetings for over 40 weeks for discussions at all project sites with the opposition parties and experts, they could not prove a single allegation.

The PCC chief thanked AICC general secretary in-charge of AP Affairs Digvijay Singh and Central observer Iqbal Singh for participating in the plenum.
