West Bengal Third Finance commission visits Mysore Zilla Panchayat
Mysore, May 14 (UNI) A delegation of the West Bengal State Finance Commission led by its Chairman Dr Sukhbilas Verma today visited the Mysore Zilla Panchayat office on a study tour.
The delegation on their arrival was extended a warm welcome by Zilla Panchayat President Rajamma.
Since, Karnataka State has proved as a role modal in the country by implementing the Panchayat Raj system more effectively by decentralisation of power to the lowest level of the elected representatives.
Dr Verma said that they were here to learn the financial activities of the ZP and how the elected representatives would involve themselves in the financial activities at the Grama Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat level. He expressed his happiness over the visit to the ZP which has been successfully implemented the Panchayat Raj system in the district.
Incharge CEO Kempe Gowda, presented a power point presentation on the activities of the ZP including financial system.
