'Use non-conventional energy to make villages self-sufficient'
Kolhapur, May 14 (UNI) Maharashtra Non-conventional Energy Minister Vinay Kore today said that projects to generate energy through non-conventional sources was the need of the hour to make villages self-sufficient.
Sources of non-conventional energy like solar energy, wind-mills, small irrigation water-base power generation are the future of energy and have no alternative to meet growing demands of power sector successfully, Kore said.
Speaking at a day-long workshop on rural electrification development organised by Union, State government, department of non-conventional energy and Kolhapur Zilla Parishad, he said non-conventional energy should be developed as an industry and should make the village self-sufficient by bringing about all-round development.
