TN CM announces Rs 5,000 vehicle allowance for MLAs

Chennai, May 14 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today announced a bonanza for the state legislators, giving them vehicle allowance of Rs 5,000.

Responding to members plea to increase their perks, Mr Karunanidhi said right from the celebration of his golden jubilee in the legislature, the members were making the request and he was happy to make the announcement.

Thanking the Chief Minister, Mr C Gnanasekaran (Cong) said members in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra were given vehicle allowance to the tune of Rs 15,000.
