Hyderabad, May 14 (UNI) Supporters of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and former Leader of the Opposition P Janardhana Reddy, MLA, today raised slogans against each other, warranting the intervention of Dr Reddy.

Speaking at the party's re-dedication programme on the occasion of the Government completing three years in office, Mr Reddy said that as per the 'Gentlemen's Agreement', if the Chief Minister was from the Andhra area the Deputy Chief Minister should be from Telangana and vice versa the Deputy Chief Minister should also be from a backward class. With this, his supporters raised slogans in favour of AICC President Sonia Gandhi and him.

Mr Reddy said Congress workers and leaders had suffered a lot during the TDP regime and the Telangana region was badly neglected.

He demanded the suspension of officials responsible for the delay in the second phase of diversion of Krishna waters to Hyderabad and said the third phase should be taken up at the earliest.

When Mr Reddy was talking about taking water from Pothireddypadu project to a steel plant in Kadapa, the native district of the Chief Minister, depriving Telangana of its rightful share of Krishna waters, supporters of Dr Reddy raised slogans in the Chief Minister's favour.

Intervening, the Chief Minister asked his supporters to remain calm and allow Mr Reddy to speak as everyone had a right to express his opinion in a democracy. He said he and Mr Reddy should together fight the TDP and if there were any differences, he and Mr Reddy would sit and sort it out.
