Separate counters for affected rail passengers
Bhopal, May 14 (UNI) Several arrangements had been made at various important railway stations for affected passengers due to a rail accident at Jhansi-Gwalior Rail division in Madhya Pradesh.
Rail traffic was thrown off gear and trains had to be diverted after 16 coaches of a goods train today derailed between Datia and Songir stations.
West Central Railway's Bhopal division PRO Anil Jain said DRM Ashok Kumar Agrawal rushed to the control room on receiving information and took stock of the situation.
Mr Agrawal said arrangement for food and drinking water had been made at Itarsi, Bhopal and Bina stations. Besides, directions had been issued for opening separate counter for ticket refund.
He said about 150 students, who were returning from tourist spot Pachmarhi to New Delhi, were reimbursed full amount and sent to New Delhi in a special sleeper coach.
