President on a two-day visit to state

Kolkata, May 14(UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam will arrive here on May 16 on a two-day visit to the state.

Official sources said, after his arrival at 21 30 hours, the President will go straight to the Raj Bhavan for a night's stay.

The next morning he is scheduled to go to Kharagpur in East Midnapore district to lay the foundation for B C Roy Multi-Speciality Research Centre.

Coming back to Kolkata in the afternoon, he will participate in an interactive session with the students of National Council of Education at Jadavpur University before visiting Manovikas Kendra, for a session with mentally challenged children and then visiting the Calcutta Club.

Mr Kalam will round up his visit with a seminar on development of the Eastern and the North-Eastern region at the National Library before leaving for Delhi at 1800 hrs.
