Parties organise rally protesting govt failure on promises
Tirupati, May 14 (UNI) Activists of all parties expect the BJP and Congress today took out a rally in protest against the failure of the Andhra Pradesh government to fulfill their poll promises, including house-sites to the poor families here.
As many as two thousands activities led by the district leaders of CPI(M), CPI and TDP raised slogans against the arrest of homeless persons and party workers during the Bhooporatam agitation and demanded withdrawal of cases on the workers, including under 'Goondas Act'.
They also demanded the release of 63 workers, including the district party leaders, who were arrested during the agitation.
The activists converged before the Rajiv Gandhi statue, kept a memorandum before his feet and shouted "Congress government is using your name(Rajiv Gandhi) only to garner vote bank." UNI
