Parrikar, Tarcar file nomination papers for Panaji city
Panaji, May 14 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today filed his nomination papers from Panaji city for the June 2 state assembly elections.
He had held the city constituency for three consecutive terms and became Chief Minister twice (in 2000 and 2002) only to be dismissed on February 2, 2005, following the Congress-led revolt.
The 52-year-old leader sought blessings of the Goddess Mahalakshmi before filing the nomination papers and later opened his election office.
Meanwhile, his Congress rival and Youth Congress vice president Dinar Tarcar, who had alleged manipulation of electoral list by the BJP, also filed his nomination papers.
